Role/Title:
PartnerJimmy is a Solicitor-Advocate and a Commercial lawyer. He is the Managing Director and Owner of the Firm, which he founded in July 2008 after time spent working in Top 50 UK International and Regional Law Firms.

Jimmy qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 after a spell as a Student Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn (1992-96). In 2013, he became a Solicitor-Advocate authorised to appear as a Higher Court Advocate (‘HCA’) in all Civil Proceedings including Judicial Reviews in the Higher Courts of England & Wales. In 2013, he took a case before the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) on a commercial matter involving Directors’ Fiduciary duties, Breach of Restrictive Covenants and Damages.

With an established specialist practice in Employment & Discrimination law, over the past two decades, Jimmy’s practice has evolved to meet the needs of his clients – often Owner Managers and High Net Worth Individuals seeking a one stop full service offering. His practice therefore sits well within the Firm’s Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution (‘ADR’) Practice. In addition to his day to day management and supervision responsibilities as a Director of a Law Firm, in recent years, his practice has developed within the specialist Chancery areas of law especially in relation to Company Commercial law, Corporate Governance, Disciplinary & Regulatory law, and Business Protection related law. Jimmy appears for clients in the County Courts and the High Courts on Appeals and Judicial Review cases.

Over the last decade, Jimmy has acted for Multinational Concerns in the USA and Denmark (Automotive, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Sectors); PLC, FTSE 100 and AIM Listed Company clients (Banking – Consumer Finance, and HR Consultancy Sector). He has acted for and against a number of Local Authorities in England, Trade Unions, Charities and NGOs over the years.

Jimmy has also sat on Boards as an NED in Social Housing Associations, Charities and on University Advisory Boards over a period spanning a decade. He was awarded ‘Alumnus of the Year’ for Community Leadership & Engagement (2014) by Birmingham City University. He is the Chair of the Solicitors’ Sole Practitioners’ Group (‘SPG’) for Birmingham & West Midlands (2014 to date) and he Chairs the Human Resources & Equalities Committee of £6.9 Million Social Housing Association (2013 to date).

Jimmy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (1999), and a Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham City University School of Law where he lectures Business Law & Practice and the Commercial Law Elective on the School’s Postgraduate Legal Practice Course.

On 1 April 2016, Jimmy will take up the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors at Nehemiah United Churches’ Housing Association.
